[Y^^]: Koihime Musou(恋姫†無双) vs Ikkitousen(一騎当千)

[Y^^]: Koihime Musou(恋姫†無双) vs Ikkitousen(一騎当千)

The similarity is that both animations are base on the romance of three kindoms, and the main charaters are females. They reinterpret the original novel. Both of them contain some erotic scenes.

The difference is that Ikkitousen is more violent and Koihime Musou(恋姫†無双, Koihime†Musō) is more humorous.

Ikkitousen tells the story from the view point of Wu(吳). One of the most important protagonist is Sonsaku Hakufu(孫策 伯符, Sunce Bofu). On the other hand, Koihime Musou follows the viewpoint of the original novel. Kan'u Unchō(関羽 雲長, Guanyu Yunchang) of Shoku(蜀) is a main protagonist.

The backdrop is also different. The backdrop of Ikkitousen is Japanese schools at present. The charaters are students. However, the setting of Koihime Musou is the ancient China. That does not mean Ikkitousen has no linkage with the three kingdoms. Most of the main charaters have some spirit from the ancient China.

Ikkitousen is a school-action animation. From the first scene, the students keep fighting. There is no sufficient reason. Sometimes, they fight just for fight itself. By contrast, Koihime Musou is a fusion historical animation. If you catch a glimpse of it, you may think it's kind of historical animation. But sooner or later you can realize that it ignored the history.

Both of them borrow the idea, characters and some story. However, the story is not important at all. They say what they want to say, not the story of the original novel.

Najica Blitz Tactics

Najica Blitz Tactics

Alternative Title(s):
Najica, Najica Dengeki Sakusen, Najica missions éclair, 나지카 전격작전

Genre: Action, Adventure, Science Fiction, Comedy, Shoujo, Shounen
Studio: Studio Fantasia

Najica Blitz Tactics (ナジカ電撃作戦 Najika Dengeki Sakusen) is an anime television series by Studio Fantasia. It premiered across Japan between October 4, 2001 and December 27, 2001. The show is similar to that of Agent Aika—both being directed by Katsuhiko Nishijima and animated by Studio Fantasia—with much of the same content.

Though Najica was later adapted into a manga by Takuya Tashiro (田代 琢也 Tashiro Takuya), the majority of the difference in content were in the context of the missions and especially the ending.

Story

Najica Hiiragi is a noted perfumer for CRI Cosmetics, famous for being able to identify over 500 scents. As the series began, she is struggling to finish "The Day Series" (a series of scents modeled after the days of the week), trying to find the perfect scent for the final perfume, "Sunday".

Secretly however, Najica is actually a field agent for CRI's Intelligence Bureau, an agency unknown to the public (and even to most of its own employees for the sake of their own protection). She is an expert markswoman with her preferred weapon; the Stechkin APS, an old Russian firearm with selective fire (auto and semi-auto) and a wooden holster that doubles as a shoulder stock. The twenty round magazine is loaded with non-lethal plastic bullets.

Najica is also an expert helicopter pilot, and she has a custom-modified Mil Mi-35 Hind assault helicopter with remote control and advanced avionics.
Najica's first mission in the narrative is to recover a Humaritt (android) codenamed "ZZZ" and referred to as "Lila", Najica becomes suspicious when CRI Intelligence is contracted by Shinba Industrial to recover more lost and possibly rogue Humaritts; especially since most of them are in the hands of criminals, revolutionaries, guerillas or terrorist groups. Her suspicions increase when Lila is assigned to be her partner, even though Najica insists she be allowed to continue working alone. As time goes on however, Najica begins to trust Lila, even if Lila's lack of social graces make her wince. Soon however the two's bond is tested when they face the creator of the Humaritts and her ultimate plan...

Ai Yori Aoshi (藍より青し)

Ai Yori Aoshi

Alternative Names (異名):
Ai Yori Aoshi, 藍より青し

Ai Yori Aoshi (藍より青し) is a Japanese seinen manga written and illustrated by Kou Fumizuki, originally serialized in 1998 in Hakusensha's Young Animal. The anime is a love story between two characters who haven't seen each other in years and who once were childhood friends.

Ai Yori Aoshi was directed by Masami Shimoda and animated by J.C.Staff. The series was made into an anime in 2002, and was completed in 2003 when its second season Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi (藍より青し ~縁~), ended. Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi takes place two years after episode one of Ai Yori Aoshi and has the characters older. In all there are 37 episodes, this includes a special Christmas episode found in Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi. The anime was released in North America by Geneon, and the manga was released in English by Tokyopop. Four visual novels were also released for the PlayStation 2, and for Windows 98.

Title

The title is taken from a quote from the Chinese philosopher Xun Zi: "Indigo comes from blue, and is yet greater than blue" (Kanji: 青は藍より出でて藍より青し, Rōmaji: Ao wa ai yori idete ai yori aoshi, simplified Chinese: 青出于蓝而胜于蓝; traditional Chinese: 青出於藍而勝於藍; pinyin: Qīng chū yú lán ér shèng yú lán). The phrase is used in both Chinese, Korean and Japanese to mean that, although people are molded by their teacher, they surpass that teacher through their own efforts. The name of the main character, Aoi (葵), is pronounced the same way as a ao(i), a version of ao "blue". Aoi states that Enishi are the bonds that tie people to one another.

The series is sometimes referred to as a halfway point between a harem anime and a magical girlfriend story. It is also referred to as "Japanese Love Hina" (和製 ラブ ひな, Wasei Rabu Hina) as the story is similar to Love Hina.

List of Koihime Musō characters

List of Koihime Musō characters

All characters are loosely based on characters of the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Protagonist

Kazuto

Hongō Kazuto (北郷 一刀)

Visual novel version

The main character of the visual novel series. He is a modern day Japanese student who was trained in kendo, military strategies and has pretty good knowledge about Asian History in general. He was sent back in time to ancient China when he attempted to stop a mysterious student from stealing an ancient Chinese mirror within the school's collection and ended up breaking the mirror in the process. Due to his abnormal costume (his school uniform) and manner of speech (English words), he is saved by Kan'u and is mistaken to be the "Messenger from Heaven" who is said to be able to bring peace to China. He initially denied and turn down the role but later on decides to aid Kan'u in her quest, hoping to find his way back home.

In Shin Koihime Musō, regardless of which kingdom is chosen, Kazuto is sent to the other world when he was sleeping back in his own world. Usually before he is found, the lords of each kingdom comment how they saw a shooting star in the sky. Like in the first game, he is still considered the Messenger of Heaven.

He is often shocked as to how heroes he knows from literature are so very different from what he has learned from his time. In the first visual novel, his role is akin to Liu Bei. However, he will take an entirely new role in the upcoming remake, as Liu Bei has become a separate character. In the remake, Kazuto can ally himself with any one of the warring factions, becoming the main partner of either Ryūbi, Sōsō, or Sonsaku.

Shoku (蜀)

Kanu

Kan'u Unchō (関羽 雲長, Guan Yu - Yunchang)
Real name: Aisha (愛紗, Aisha)
Voiced by: Mina Yamamoto (visual novel), Nami Kurokawa (anime)

Visual novel version

Arguably the main heroine of the first game. Kan'u shows up shortly after Hongo is transported back in time and saves him from a group of bandits, and due to Hongo's costume and manner of speech, subsequently mistakes him to be the "Messenger from Heaven" and becomes the first person to vow her loyalty to him. Kan'u remains the driving force behind the Hongō/Shu army and displays many heroic actions in the war, often being the leading voices for the other girls as well as the motivator of the group. However, due to her past, she strongly rejects Hongo for calling her a girl, stating, "Nothing as weak as that!"

In the sequel, Shin Koihime Musō, Kan'u is relegated to the position of Ryūbi's second in command and confidante. Here she is a very strict general and disciplinarian, especially towards Ryūbi herself (due to Ryūbi being a rather naive and reluctant queen), and Kazuto (likely out of jealousy over Ryūbi's closeness to Kazuto, since she herself in fact harbors romantic feelings towards him).

Anime version

Kan'u is known as the Beautiful Black-haired bandit fighter and wields the Green Dragon Crescent Blade. She is also one of the main characters beside Chōhi. Her past reveals that her family was killed by bandits, which made it her quest to ensure Innocent people will never suffer like she did. She cares a lot for her friends, and she is a sister to Chōhi after they swore a vow of sisterhood because she felt sorry for Chōhi's loneliness. Two common recurring jokes about her are: 1) people who have heard the legend of the Black-haired bandit fighter remark that the rumors describe her as the a most beautiful woman, and because of this did not think Kan'u was her and 2) some of the female characters mistakenly believe she and Rinrin are mother and daughter despite the fact she is still young. The second running gag is carried even further in Shin Koihime Musō when Kōsonsan mistakes Kōmei as Kan'u's daughter as well.

Chōhi

Chōhi Yokutoku (張飛 翼徳, Zhang Fei - Yide)
Real name: Rinrin (鈴々, Lingling)
Voiced by: Miya Serizono (visual novel), Hiroka Nishizawa (anime)

Visual novel version

Chōhi joins Kazuto along with Kan'u after the two discover him together. Unlike Kan'u, who holds a more reserved Master-servant-like relationship with Kazuto, she treats Kazuto like an older sibling and calls him "big brother," similar to how she treats Kan'u. As a powerful character, Chōhi has the strongest Damage ability when used as a general in the game. However, she has no defense technique when used as a commander, thus making her unfit to be one.

Anime version

Chōhi is a talkative and always cheerful girl. Although she is small and very smart in some things, she is naive in others, yet very powerful and strong. She is one of the main characters and the first person to join Kan'u. Chōhi will also be very dedicated to her duty no matter what the cost to her (in one episode, for example, she fights bandits despite having a cold.)

Chōun

Chō'un Shiryū (趙雲 子龍, Zhao Yun - Zilong)
Real name: Sei (星, Xing)
Voiced by: Nana Nogami (visual novel), Emi Motoi (anime)

Visual novel version

When Kan'u was fighting the Tō army, she fought alongside Chō'un for a while; when this war ended, Chō'un met Kazuto and took a liking to him, promising to join his army later. She joins alongside Kōchū after the battle with Enshō. She has a strong obsession of menma. She also has a habit of running around the city as the masked hero of justice 'Butterfly Mask'. Strangely, no one other than Kazuto and Shuri can recognize her true identity, despite only wearing a mask.

Anime version

Chōun is a mysterious girl who appears calm, collected, and very powerful. She is the second person to join the group. She loves to tease Kan'u and other women frequently. She also assumes the identity of a hero of justice named Butterfly Mask, hence wearing a Butterfly mask.

In Shin Koihime Musou, Chō'un (in Kachou Kamen's form), saves Ryūbi from bandits with her secret technique, making Ryūbi develop a crush on Kachou Kamen. Chōun asked Ryūbi who saved her, and she 'innocently' said good things about her (Kachou Kamen is super cool, and noble), raising Chōun's mood high. Chōun is also scary when she's smiling (Sui will have nightmares about it and Shion won't let her daughter sees Chōun's smiling face). Chōun even continues teasing Kan'u in more ridiculous ways (like an embarrasing introduction of Kan'u to the bandits who attacked Ryūbi - and Chōun gets a lump on the head as a result).

In Koihime Musou's OVA, Chō'un (as Kachou Kamen) appeared and swam, but Kouchuu, who acted as the school's doctor, said that its okay, since Kachou kamen's appearance looks like Chō'un, and she imediately tied up and put into an unused class, until night and no one seems to notice her missing (even her daughter, who asked about her whereabouts before).

Bachō

Bachō Mōki (馬超 孟起, Ma Chao - Mengqi)
Real name: Sui (翠, Cui)
Voiced by: Mio Ōgawa (visual novel), Maki Kobayashi (anime)

Visual novel version

When her father died, she joined Kazuto's army so she can get revenge on Sōsō. She joins during the war against Enshō. She becomes extremely embarrassed when alone with a man, making her relationship with Kazuto start off strangely in the Base Phase events.

Anime version

Chōhi's friend and daughter of the late Batō who was supposedly killed by Sōsō. Although she speaks like a man, she is really a simple, straight-forward, and easily embarrassed girl. She wields a simple looking naginata but is very strong in both power and form. The third person to join the group.

Shokatsuryō

Shokatsuryō Kōmei (諸葛亮 孔明, Zhuge Liang - Kongming)
Real name: Shuri (朱里, Zhuli) Voiced by: Suzune Kusunoki (visual novel), Erika Narumi (anime)

Visual novel version

When she was evacuating a village and met Kazuto, she was shocked to see the very "messenger from heaven" helping the people. She begs Kazuto to let her join his army, and he allows her to due to his knowledge that she was a master strategist. The third to join the group. She has a tendency to say "Hawawa" very often to the point of the being called the "Hawawa Strategist" by the soldiers. She also has a hobby of reading perverted books to discover new ways to please Kazuto.

Anime version

A shy, kind, and reserved girl around the same age as Rinrin, but is a smart, good strategist in battle. She wants to become a great scholar like her master Shibaki. The fourth to join the group. She was also trained in herbal medicine.

Kōchū

Kōchū Kanshō (黄忠 漢升, Huang Zhong - Hansheng)
Real name: Shion (紫苑, Ziyuan)
Voiced by: Kū Iida (visual novel), Yū Amamiya (anime)

Visual novel version

Her daughter Riri (see below) was kidnapped by Enshō's men to make Kōchū fight Kazuto's army. Thanks to Chō'un Kazuto's group rescuing Riri and returning her to Kōchū, she sees how Kazuto is a good person, and she offers her services to him to fight at his side. She loves Kazuto and teases him frequently.

Anime version

A skilled Archer with great eyesight and incredible skill in Archery. She is a noble woman who loves her daughter Riri. In the anime, her daughter is kidnapped by bandits and they try to force her to assassinate an official that has been cracking down on bandits. Kan'u and her friends must try to rescue the child before the assassination can take place.

Ryūbi

Ryūbi Gentoku (劉備 玄德, Liu Bei - Xuande)
Real name: Tōka (桃香, Taoxiang)
Voiced by: Mai Goto (anime)

Visual novel version

The new heroine and the young queen of the kingdom of Shu in the sequel, Shin Koihime Musō. Being quite young she is naive, often reluctant to go to war, and hates paperwork (much to the chargin of Kan'u who as a result often scolds the young queen and reminds her of her duties), but has a lot of confidence on her subordinates. She falls in love with Kazuto, causing Kan'u to feel a bit of jealousy.

Anime version

Introduced in Shin Koihime Musō. A descendant of a distinguished family who was given possession of a sword, the family heirloom, before she encountered the man who would eventually steal her name (leading everyone to believe him to be Ryūbi Gentoku in the first season) and her sword, causing her to fall into disgrace. To redeem herself, she ventures out in search for the man and her sword, which leads her to Kan'u and company, who are greatly surprised of her identity (in fact she is nearly assaulted by Kōchū, and later Bachō, upon hearing of hearing of the name Ryūbi again). After being attacked twice by bandits (and almost being raped in the second attack) while venturing alone, she concedes to Chōun's suggestion of joining their group for protection. She is revealed to be an old classmate of Kōsonsan in primary school, even though she doesn't remember Kōsonsan's real name Pairen much to the latter's disgust.

Gengan

Gengan (嚴顏, Yan Yan)
Real name: Kikyō (桔梗, Jiegeng)
Voiced by: Ayano Shiroi (visual novel)

Visual novel version

A female general in the sequel, Shin Koihime Musō. Kōchū's close friend and drinking partner. She sports a large red shoulder armor on her left shoulder when geared up for battle. Very tall and quite voluptous, she teases Kazuto often just like Kōchū does.

Gien

Gien Bunchō (魏延 文長, Wei Yan - Wenchang)
Real name: En'ya (焔耶, Yanye)
Voiced by: Hikaru Kaga (visual novel)

Visual novel version

A new warrior in the sequel, Shin Koihime Musō. She's easily distinguished by her black hair with white streaks on the right side. A devoted bodyguard of Ryūbi. Has a tomboyish personality and seems to take exception to any kind of behavior that suggests affection or attraction, whether from people, or animals (such as Ryofu's dogs). Initially hostile towards Kazuto and thinks of him as a perverted troublemaker, until she is "punished" by Batai in a very humiliating way (Batai tricked Gien into a well prepared snare trap, and then tickled her). At first denying it, she eventually realizes she likes Kazuto.

Batai

Batai (馬岱, Ma Dai)
Real name: Tanpopo (蒲公英, Pugongying)
Voiced by: Ringo Aoba (visual novel)

Visual Novel Version

Bachō's cousin and a new character in the sequel, Shin Koihime Musō. Despite being younger than Bachō, she has no issues being around men. In fact she often teases Bachō about the latter's issues with men, sometimes by putting her into embarrassing situations, like bringing her to see Kazuto while he's bathing in a river causing Bachō to freak out. She also likes Kazuto, and is aggressive in pursuing him, going as far as to lead him out to a forest (on the pretense that Bachō was kidnapped), knock him unconscious, and have her way with him.

An anime adaptation produced by Dogakobo began broadcasting on July 8, 2008, and several seasons have continued.

Plot Summary

After losing a family to bandits during a night raid, Kanu swears she will not let others share the pain she experienced that night. She quickly becomes a well-known and feared by villains bandit hunter. During her journey she comes across others, who wish to join her in her cause. One of them is a girl named Rin Rin, who had similar experience with bandits in the past.

Settings

The game is set in ancient China during and after the fall of the Han dynasty with some major difference, most notably; Most of the male characters in the novel have become female and The Three kingdoms that were formed after the Han Dynasty, have already been established earlier. Despite each kingdom ruled by an independent monarchy, the three kingdoms are still loyal to the Han empire. However, the empire is on the verge of collapse as civil unrest, banditry and infighting bring turmoil to the nation.

As the empire finally collapse and warlords wage war with each other, amidst the turmoil several major factions are formed, ready to rule and unite the fractured nation. These major factions (5 in Koihime Musō, 7 in the sequel) are the Shoku faction (Chinese: 蜀, Shǔ) led by Kazuto Hongō in Koihime Musō and in the sequel, Queen Ryūbi of the Kingdom of Shu, the Gi faction (Chinese: 魏, Wèi) led by Queen Sōsō of the Kingdom of Wei, the Go faction (Chinese: 吳, Wú) led by Princess Sonken of the Kingdom of Wu and in the sequel, her older sister Queen Sonsaku, the Tōtaku faction (Chinese: 董卓, Dong Zhuo) led by Governess Tōtaku, Governor of Dong province, the En/Yuan faction led by Lady Enshō, Lord of Yuan province, and in the sequel the Kōkintō/Yellow Turban Rebels led by the Zhang sisters, Chōkaku, Chōhō and Chōryō and the Nanban/Southern Barbarians led by Mōkaku. (The anime is set before the Han empire fell and before the power struggle between the warlords began.)

Adaptations

Manga

A manga adaptation based on the original visual novel drawn by Japanese illustrator Yayoi Hizuki, with its title renamed as Koihime Musō (恋姫†夢想) began serialization in the second issue of the manga magazine Dengeki G's Festival! Comic published by ASCII Media Works on April 26, 2008.

Anime

An anime adaptation produced by Dogakobo began broadcasting in Japan on July 8, 2008 on the Tokyo MX TV and the Chiba TV broadcasting networks, followed by other broadcasting networks later during the same month. The anime series, with its title shortened to simply Koihime Musō, featured a story very different to that found in the original visual novel. The original protagonist, Hongo Kazuto, is not present in the anime, nor does the grand battle between the three kingdoms take place. Instead, it feature Kan'u's adventure in China, meeting many other characters from the game along the way. The anime is among those noted for sometimes depicting the characters in an exaggerated super deformed manner. After the last episode aired, it was announced an OVA was in production and it will follow the games plot. The OVA was released on April 1, 2009, and actually featured all the characters in an alternate setting - that of a modern highschool. The second season of anime, a series based on the second game, entitled Shin Koihime Musō (真・恋姫†無双), continue where the last season left off, aired from October 5, 2009 to December 2009. The third season began airing April 2010, titled Shin Koihime Musō: Otome Tairan (真・恋姫†無双 ~乙女大乱~).

Ah My Buddha, known in Japan as Amaenaideyo!! (あまえないでよっ!!, lit. "Don't Act So Spoilt"), is a mature rated manga by Toshinori Sogabe that was serialised in Comic Gum magazine. An anime adaptation runs on TV Tokyo's anime satellite channel, AT-X. A second "season" of the manga, named: Amaenaideyo!! MS! was released 3 years later.

The second season of the anime, Amaenaideyo!! Katsu!! (あまえないでよっ!! 喝!!), was shortly released and introduces a new antagonist character, the fifteen year old girl, Kazusano Kazuki who is actually very affectionate to Ikkou, unlike the other girls. The second season is also more serious and dramatic than the last one, and focuses more on Hinata's unstable powers, Haruka's childhood years and Kazuki's tricks to get her hand on Ikkou's powers.

Media Blasters has announced that they will release this series as a "6 volume release", starting in January, 2009. It will also be called: Ah My Buddha!. The show was shown with a R-15 rating on TV in Japan, which is the Japanese 'Restricted' rating.

Plot

The protagonist of the series is the monk-in-training Ikkou Satonaka, who transforms into a super-monk (being able to perform mass exorcisms) by his lust for the girls he lives with (Note: In the anime, he transforms from seeing a naked girl). He lives in the Saienji Temple as a Buddhist priest in training with six other nuns: Haruka Amanogawa, Sumi Ikuina, Hinata and Sakura Sugai, Chitose Nanbu and Yuuko Atouda, each of whom represents one of the bosatsu of the six lower realms of the traditional Buddhist cosmology. Chitose is the main love interest and has a love-hate relationship with Ikkou which is somewhat typical in many other anime, involving numerous misunderstandings, beatings, and angry tirades where the male is clearly at a disadvantage to the female. A side effect of Ikkou using his ultimate power is that immediately afterwards he turns into an even bigger pervert than he normally is. The subject matter of the series is Ikkou's self-destructive power and the powers of the other nuns and their training to control these powers, as well as their (mostly non-romantic) relationships.

Amazing Nurse Nanako (1999)

Amazing Nurse Nanako

Alternative names: Amazing Nurse Nanako, 菜々子解体診書, Nanako Kaitai Shinsho
Genre: Comedy

Original video animation
Director: Hiroshi Negishi
Studio: Radix
Licensor: Save Our Nurse Project, Geneon
Released: 5 July 1999
Episodes: 6

Amazing Nurse Nanako (菜々子解体診書 Nanako Kaitai Shinsho) is an anime OVA series released in Japan. There were 6 episodes. It was released in January 2003 in a DVD box-set in the United States through Geneon. It combines humor, science-fiction and ecchi.

The series details the life and history of Nanako Shichigusa, a 16-year-old who works as a maid (not nurse as the title might imply) in the hospital of Dr. Kyogi Ogami, the male lead. Nanako is a classic ditzy slapstick protagonist who tends to accidentally break things and do everything wrong. Ogami treats her frequently in a cruel or heartless manner -- threatening her, yelling at her and even subjecting her to physical abuse -- yet at the climax of every episode he comes through to rescue her from whatever predicament she got herself into. Much of the series revolves around the relationship between Nanako and Ogami -- his mean veneer, her faith in him, and how he alternates between the evil mad scientist archetype and the knight in shining armor archetype.

As the series progresses we are gradually revealed the history between Nanako and Ogami's family and given a reason why the two are so tightly knit together, as well as why the title refers to Nanako as a "nurse". A minor supporting cast is introduced, though Nanako and Ogami are clearly the leads. The plot incorporates the American military, the Catholic Church and outlandish science fiction experiments, with these elements progressed mostly in the lead episode and the last two episodes. The middle episodes 2-4 feature mostly unrelated one-shot plots, though minor progress is made in each episode regarding the history between Nanako and Ogami's family.

Plot summary

In the beginning, Nanako was the subject of a cyborg experiment conducted by Dr. Ogami for one of his most powerful robots. Through rigorous training, Dr. Ogami trained Nanako to withstand the pain. However, he made her too strong, and the plan ultimately failed. However, recent developments between the Pentagon and the Vatican to resurrect Jesus for the Second Coming have landed Nanako as the subject of an operation in which she will give birth to the new Jesus.

Throughout the series, we learn that Nanako is, in fact, the third clone in a series of clones cloned from the original Nanako. The original died from a mysterious illness, and an experiment to clone her was successful. However, around the age of 20, each Nanako clone dies of the same mysterious illness that claimed the life of the first Nanako. It has been Dr. Ogami's quest to cure the "Nanako illness" ever since he promised the second clone that he would heal her before she died when he was young.
