List of Koihime Musō characters
All characters are loosely based on characters of the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Protagonist
Kazuto
Hongō Kazuto (北郷 一刀)
Visual novel version
The main character of the visual novel series. He is a modern day Japanese student who was trained in kendo, military strategies and has pretty good knowledge about Asian History in general. He was sent back in time to ancient China when he attempted to stop a mysterious student from stealing an ancient Chinese mirror within the school's collection and ended up breaking the mirror in the process. Due to his abnormal costume (his school uniform) and manner of speech (English words), he is saved by Kan'u and is mistaken to be the "Messenger from Heaven" who is said to be able to bring peace to China. He initially denied and turn down the role but later on decides to aid Kan'u in her quest, hoping to find his way back home.
In Shin Koihime Musō, regardless of which kingdom is chosen, Kazuto is sent to the other world when he was sleeping back in his own world. Usually before he is found, the lords of each kingdom comment how they saw a shooting star in the sky. Like in the first game, he is still considered the Messenger of Heaven.
He is often shocked as to how heroes he knows from literature are so very different from what he has learned from his time. In the first visual novel, his role is akin to Liu Bei. However, he will take an entirely new role in the upcoming remake, as Liu Bei has become a separate character. In the remake, Kazuto can ally himself with any one of the warring factions, becoming the main partner of either Ryūbi, Sōsō, or Sonsaku.
Shoku (蜀)
Kanu
Kan'u Unchō (関羽 雲長, Guan Yu - Yunchang)
Real name: Aisha (愛紗, Aisha)
Voiced by: Mina Yamamoto (visual novel), Nami Kurokawa (anime)
Visual novel version
Arguably the main heroine of the first game. Kan'u shows up shortly after Hongo is transported back in time and saves him from a group of bandits, and due to Hongo's costume and manner of speech, subsequently mistakes him to be the "Messenger from Heaven" and becomes the first person to vow her loyalty to him. Kan'u remains the driving force behind the Hongō/Shu army and displays many heroic actions in the war, often being the leading voices for the other girls as well as the motivator of the group. However, due to her past, she strongly rejects Hongo for calling her a girl, stating, "Nothing as weak as that!"
In the sequel, Shin Koihime Musō, Kan'u is relegated to the position of Ryūbi's second in command and confidante. Here she is a very strict general and disciplinarian, especially towards Ryūbi herself (due to Ryūbi being a rather naive and reluctant queen), and Kazuto (likely out of jealousy over Ryūbi's closeness to Kazuto, since she herself in fact harbors romantic feelings towards him).
Anime version
Kan'u is known as the Beautiful Black-haired bandit fighter and wields the Green Dragon Crescent Blade. She is also one of the main characters beside Chōhi. Her past reveals that her family was killed by bandits, which made it her quest to ensure Innocent people will never suffer like she did. She cares a lot for her friends, and she is a sister to Chōhi after they swore a vow of sisterhood because she felt sorry for Chōhi's loneliness. Two common recurring jokes about her are: 1) people who have heard the legend of the Black-haired bandit fighter remark that the rumors describe her as the a most beautiful woman, and because of this did not think Kan'u was her and 2) some of the female characters mistakenly believe she and Rinrin are mother and daughter despite the fact she is still young. The second running gag is carried even further in Shin Koihime Musō when Kōsonsan mistakes Kōmei as Kan'u's daughter as well.
Chōhi
Chōhi Yokutoku (張飛 翼徳, Zhang Fei - Yide)
Real name: Rinrin (鈴々, Lingling)
Voiced by: Miya Serizono (visual novel), Hiroka Nishizawa (anime)
Visual novel version
Chōhi joins Kazuto along with Kan'u after the two discover him together. Unlike Kan'u, who holds a more reserved Master-servant-like relationship with Kazuto, she treats Kazuto like an older sibling and calls him "big brother," similar to how she treats Kan'u. As a powerful character, Chōhi has the strongest Damage ability when used as a general in the game. However, she has no defense technique when used as a commander, thus making her unfit to be one.
Anime version
Chōhi is a talkative and always cheerful girl. Although she is small and very smart in some things, she is naive in others, yet very powerful and strong. She is one of the main characters and the first person to join Kan'u. Chōhi will also be very dedicated to her duty no matter what the cost to her (in one episode, for example, she fights bandits despite having a cold.)
Chōun
Chō'un Shiryū (趙雲 子龍, Zhao Yun - Zilong)
Real name: Sei (星, Xing)
Voiced by: Nana Nogami (visual novel), Emi Motoi (anime)
Visual novel version
When Kan'u was fighting the Tō army, she fought alongside Chō'un for a while; when this war ended, Chō'un met Kazuto and took a liking to him, promising to join his army later. She joins alongside Kōchū after the battle with Enshō. She has a strong obsession of menma. She also has a habit of running around the city as the masked hero of justice 'Butterfly Mask'. Strangely, no one other than Kazuto and Shuri can recognize her true identity, despite only wearing a mask.
Anime version
Chōun is a mysterious girl who appears calm, collected, and very powerful. She is the second person to join the group. She loves to tease Kan'u and other women frequently. She also assumes the identity of a hero of justice named Butterfly Mask, hence wearing a Butterfly mask.
In Shin Koihime Musou, Chō'un (in Kachou Kamen's form), saves Ryūbi from bandits with her secret technique, making Ryūbi develop a crush on Kachou Kamen. Chōun asked Ryūbi who saved her, and she 'innocently' said good things about her (Kachou Kamen is super cool, and noble), raising Chōun's mood high. Chōun is also scary when she's smiling (Sui will have nightmares about it and Shion won't let her daughter sees Chōun's smiling face). Chōun even continues teasing Kan'u in more ridiculous ways (like an embarrasing introduction of Kan'u to the bandits who attacked Ryūbi - and Chōun gets a lump on the head as a result).
In Koihime Musou's OVA, Chō'un (as Kachou Kamen) appeared and swam, but Kouchuu, who acted as the school's doctor, said that its okay, since Kachou kamen's appearance looks like Chō'un, and she imediately tied up and put into an unused class, until night and no one seems to notice her missing (even her daughter, who asked about her whereabouts before).

Anime version
Chōhi's friend and daughter of the late Batō who was supposedly killed by Sōsō. Although she speaks like a man, she is really a simple, straight-forward, and easily embarrassed girl. She wields a simple looking naginata but is very strong in both power and form. The third person to join the group.

An anime adaptation produced by Dogakobo began broadcasting on July 8, 2008, and several seasons have continued.
Plot Summary
After losing a family to bandits during a night raid, Kanu swears she will not let others share the pain she experienced that night. She quickly becomes a well-known and feared by villains bandit hunter. During her journey she comes across others, who wish to join her in her cause. One of them is a girl named Rin Rin, who had similar experience with bandits in the past.
Settings
The game is set in ancient China during and after the fall of the Han dynasty with some major difference, most notably; Most of the male characters in the novel have become female and The Three kingdoms that were formed after the Han Dynasty, have already been established earlier. Despite each kingdom ruled by an independent monarchy, the three kingdoms are still loyal to the Han empire. However, the empire is on the verge of collapse as civil unrest, banditry and infighting bring turmoil to the nation.
As the empire finally collapse and warlords wage war with each other, amidst the turmoil several major factions are formed, ready to rule and unite the fractured nation. These major factions (5 in Koihime Musō, 7 in the sequel) are the Shoku faction (Chinese: 蜀, Shǔ) led by Kazuto Hongō in Koihime Musō and in the sequel, Queen Ryūbi of the Kingdom of Shu, the Gi faction (Chinese: 魏, Wèi) led by Queen Sōsō of the Kingdom of Wei, the Go faction (Chinese: 吳, Wú) led by Princess Sonken of the Kingdom of Wu and in the sequel, her older sister Queen Sonsaku, the Tōtaku faction (Chinese: 董卓, Dong Zhuo) led by Governess Tōtaku, Governor of Dong province, the En/Yuan faction led by Lady Enshō, Lord of Yuan province, and in the sequel the Kōkintō/Yellow Turban Rebels led by the Zhang sisters, Chōkaku, Chōhō and Chōryō and the Nanban/Southern Barbarians led by Mōkaku. (The anime is set before the Han empire fell and before the power struggle between the warlords began.)
Adaptations
Manga
A manga adaptation based on the original visual novel drawn by Japanese illustrator Yayoi Hizuki, with its title renamed as Koihime Musō (恋姫†夢想) began serialization in the second issue of the manga magazine Dengeki G's Festival! Comic published by ASCII Media Works on April 26, 2008.
Anime
An anime adaptation produced by Dogakobo began broadcasting in Japan on July 8, 2008 on the Tokyo MX TV and the Chiba TV broadcasting networks, followed by other broadcasting networks later during the same month. The anime series, with its title shortened to simply Koihime Musō, featured a story very different to that found in the original visual novel. The original protagonist, Hongo Kazuto, is not present in the anime, nor does the grand battle between the three kingdoms take place. Instead, it feature Kan'u's adventure in China, meeting many other characters from the game along the way. The anime is among those noted for sometimes depicting the characters in an exaggerated super deformed manner. After the last episode aired, it was announced an OVA was in production and it will follow the games plot. The OVA was released on April 1, 2009, and actually featured all the characters in an alternate setting - that of a modern highschool. The second season of anime, a series based on the second game, entitled Shin Koihime Musō (真・恋姫†無双), continue where the last season left off, aired from October 5, 2009 to December 2009. The third season began airing April 2010, titled Shin Koihime Musō: Otome Tairan (真・恋姫†無双 ~乙女大乱~).

G-taste (ジィ・テイスト) is an erotic manga series illustrated by the artist Hiroki Yagami (八神ひろき, Yagami Hiroki) and serialised in Young Magazine Upper's. The "G" in "G-taste" is used symbolically as the letter between "F" (for "Fetish") and "H" (for "hentai"). The anime has been licensed in the US by Softcel Pictures. However the rights have since expired and now Critical Mass have since bought the rights. Not all of the series has been licensed as only the first five episodes have been released in the US. Episodes 6 and 7 have, to date, not been released in the US at all.
Hiroki Yagami places a great deal of emphasis on character design, and some of his female characters have become cult figures in Japanese anime. The G-taste comics consist of a collection of four scene erotic vignettes, which typically each focus on a particular female character. Characteristically, they feature very little male involvement in sexual acts, which contributes to the voyeuristic atmosphere. They are not usually very graphic, abiding by the Japanese legal restriction on not showing the lower genital areas. Some of the activities shown include masturbation, bondage, lesbian sex etc. Like most anime, it features female characters with highly improbable proportions. The comics seem to thrive on fetishes, and motifs of long legs, heels and short skirts are continuously recycled. Nevertheless, G-taste can be said to be artistic in terms of presentation, with slow and deliberate scenes showing close-ups of anatomy and of movement. Its art is relatively unique in Japanese anime.
The characters of G-taste include the stock figures of Japanese pornography, including the school girl, office clerk, secretary, nurse, waitress, receptionist, campaign girl, maid, doctor, teacher, and wife.
G-taste has also released a number of short films, mostly dramatisations of its comic stories. They are distinguished by realistic entourage. It has also spawned a number of computer games, including G-taste Mahjong for Arcade and PlayStation 2. But far and away the most successful part of the G-taste franchise is the resin figurines modelled on G-taste characters, which enjoy mainstream appeal in Japan and overseas. Some of the resin statues sell for up to USD $150 each. To an extent, the G-taste franchise demonstrates the crossover occurring between hentai, anime and comics.

Dead or Alive (デッドオアアライブ)
Genres: Fighting, Sports, Gambling
Dead or Alive (デッドオアアライブ, Deddo oa Araibu) is a video game series that is primarily composed of fast-paced 3D fighting games for arcades and home systems. The series is produced by Tecmo and developed by Team Ninja. Its story and characters are the creation of Tomonobu Itagaki, who has since left the company and is no longer working on the series. The Dead or Alive franchise is arguably as well known for its cast of busty female characters and the animation of their breasts as it is for its combat. This aspect of the game's popularity led to the creation of the spin-off game Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball and its sequels, where the women and their sex appeal play a more focal role than it does in the core Dead or Alive series.

Spider-Girl
Spider-Girl
Spider-Girl (May "Mayday" Parker) is a superheroine in Marvel Comics' MC2 universe. The character was created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz as the teenage daughter of Peter Parker (Spider-Man) and Mary Jane Watson, and first appeared in What If (vol. 2) #105 (February 1998). She later acquired her own ongoing comic book, Spider-Girl, written by DeFalco and drawn by Frenz and Pat Olliffe, which was the longest-running superhero book with a lead female character ever published by Marvel before being relaunched as The Amazing Spider-Girl, and later The Spectacular Spider-Girl. Peter and Mary Jane named their daughter after his Aunt May.
