F³: Frantic, Frustrated & Female (嘆きの健康優良児)

Genre: Comedy

F³: Frantic, Frustrated & Female (嘆きの健康優良児, Nageki no Kenkō Yūryōji) is an hentai anime series that centers on a 17-year-old girl named Hiroe Ogawa who has difficulty achieving orgasm. It has been described as "a spoof on horror hentai."

The three F's of the title stand for "Frantic, Frustrated and Female." The Japanese title is 嘆きの健康優良児, "Nageki no Kenkô Yûryôji", which has been translated as "Grieving Physically Perfect Girl" or "The Lament of an Otherwise Healthy Girl" and was created by Wanyan Aguda. The three OVAs were originally released by SoftCel Pictures, a division of ADV Films, and later re-released as F3: Ménage À Trois, an obvious group sex reference. Recently, F³ had been re-licenced by Critical Mass under its original title when ADV Films closed their hentai line.

F³ is Wanyan Aguda's debut manga in 1988 and spanned 5 volumes. F³ was followed by two sequels, and their translations into English highlight some of the difficulties faced in translating adult entertainment materials between two countries with very different laws and mores on the subject: in the first 25-minute episode, Hiroe's attempts to achieve orgasm are assisted by her older sister Mayaka, and include an encounter with her mother, Yayoi. In the two sequels, translator's notes insist that Mayaka and Yayoi are actually Hiroe's neighbor and landlady, respectively, whom she just happens to have nicknamed "Sis" and "Mom."

The title in Japan came from a J-Pop song called "Nageki no Kenkô Yûryôji" performed by FAIRCHILD. The song was recorded in 1988, the same year F³ debuted in Japan.

801 T.T.S. Airbats (青空少女隊 Aozora Shōjotai, lit. "The Blue Sky Girls Squad") is a manga by Shimizu Toshimitsu which was later adapted into a seven episode anime series, produced by Studio Fantasia and Victor Entertainment. The series was released in Japan on Laser Disc as a series of OAV episodes between 1994 and 1996, and was licensed for English language distribution by ADV Films. The title has been out of print since 2005. The series had aired on TVB in Hong Kong on April 9, 1996.

The plot focuses on the activities of Japanese Air Force technician Takuya Isurugi, who is transferred to the 801st Tactical Training Squadron, an elite aerobatics team, at the beginning of the series. Isurugi is a shy otaku who initially makes a bad impression with the four pilots of the unit, all of whom are female.

The plot quickly turns into that of a harem anime when two of the pilots, Miyuki Haneda and Arisa Mitaka, fall in love with the surprised Isurugi. This inflames their already-existing rivalry, which causes trouble for their co-operation in the air. With the JASDF already considering disbanding their unit, Isurugi must persuade the girls to work together to improve their performance and save the team.

The first three episodes circulate around the love triangle between the pilots and Isurugi, however the remaining four episodes become more typical of an anime series and feature more comical and unusual plots (such as a food eating contest amongst the crew, visiting haunted locales etc.) as well as feature more explicit details behind some of the characters backgrounds.
